NorthStars Return North Disappointed
Bruce Peninsula North Stars came to Chesley for a makeup game and kept it interesting right until the final moments of the third period. On the board at the end, 5 to 3, for the IceDogs.

The game got off to a fast first period and at 11:52,  with some legwork from Connor and Brock, Brandon netted the first goal.  The entire period, the Dogs out shot the NorthStars (12 to 7) but with some wild action in front of our goalie, we assisted their team's first goal of the game at 2:48.  But Bradley made some fine stops, including a stand up save in the final five seconds, to keep it tied at one.

The second period was painful for all who were not an IceDog.  Their goalie had to make 17 saves, compared to our goalie's three.  NorthStars had two penalties, to our none and the linesman went down HARD, which had us concerned he would have to skate off or at least require a cane.  All that, AND the Dogs get their second goal when Brandon picks up a rebound at the 7:39 mark.  It was a good period to be a Dog.

However, the third period saw the NorthStars renewed.  For the first time all game, they started to lead the shot count.  One of those wild shots resulted in the score being tied up.  Dogs responded with Gavin setting up Conlan to make it 3.  NorthStars don't even wait for the ink to dry on that, when they get a faceoff goal at 6:07.  Tied up again.  However, the inability to shut their trap costs the visitors another penalty and their player, a game or two.  Josh and Conlan take advantage to pull ahead 4 to 3.  IceDogs keep the pressure on and it results in a spectacular pile up on their goalie in the final minute, with Mitch earning his nickname of the 'Flying V' with ringing his skates on the net as he flies over it all.  NorthStars pull their goalie and Dogs took advantage with a beauty shot from one end to the other by Chayse, nudged by Conlan to the back of their net.  5 to 3!
