Back to back wins puts us in the Elite final
The Midget Ice Dogs blew through the Elite round robin with a top 7 wins and 1 loss and awaits for the final.
In the first game against Saugeen Shores Storm, it began slowly in the first period as nobody scored but we had booming music between face offs which brought back memories with every song played.
In the second Conlan started the scoring off with a slapper to Chayse who did a nice move in tight and shot it in the corner of the net. Later after the Ref did the "road runner" impression Chayse went all the way and shot off the goalies arm putting us up 2-0 heading into the third period.
After a 10 minute misconduct and a 2 minute unsportsmanlike by SSS, we scored on the PP after Josh shot from the point, Brandon took another shot on net and Joey fired in the rebound. Chayse at the drop of the puck went all the way down the ice and shot the puck in bottom right corner to put us up 4-0. After scoring two quick ones by the Storm, JD replied with a screen shot and the puck found its way into their net. Finally Chayse took a slapper just over their blue line and it bulged the twin and we ended the game with a string of penalties with a 6-2 win.
Game two and final game of the round robin was against Seaforth Stars, who had a short bench with only 9 skaters.
Right at the 14:53 mark of the game Brad took a shot over their goalies stick side and we were up 1-0. After some great saves by Bradley, Conlan came down all along the right side and snipped in a shot in the top corner over the goalies shoulder and it was 2-0 after the first period.
In the second period Bradley made some more HUGE saves to keep us up still 2-0.
The third period had Noah shoot a bullet shot after a scramble in front of their net and we were up 3-0. Finally Noah again took a shot and Gavin gobbled up the rebound and fired it in the bottom corner of the Stars net to end the game with a 4-0 win.
Now we await our Elite final .... nice job Ice Dogs!!!
