IceDogs Score Late to Defeat Rebels
The Novice White IceDogs made the frigid trek to Dodge City to tangle with the Rebels Saturday morning.  The IceDogs had won the first meeting between the teams and the Rebels were looking for redemption.

The IceDogs were playing with a short bench (only 2 spares!) and they started the game a little tentative.  The Rebels would get on the board early with a nice shot from the slot after some hard work in the IceDog end.  The IceDogs were still a bit weary for this early morning game but Jesse P would give them some life with a nice breakaway goal.  Jesse would make it 2-1 with a "roof-daddy" goal on another breakaway as the period came to a close.

The 2nd period was end to end action as the Rebel tender and Dylan L went toe-to-toe with some lovely saves.  The IceDogs rang the iron a couple of times too but the period would end with the IceDogs still leading 2-1.

The Rebels came out strong to start the 3rd and took advantage of a tiring IceDog group and made it 2-2 on a scramble play.  Then, the TSN Turning Point happened--with the IceDogs hemmed in their own end, the Rebels would work the puck to middle of the ice.  The Rebel forward leaned in to a shot that was labelled for the corner, when Dylan L, (shades of Carey Price) shot out his pad and his stick to steer the puck harmlessly into the corner.  A quick pass up to Jesse P from Vivian W. and the IceDogs were away.  Jesse would slip home a shot and give the IceDogs the lead with only 1:40 left to play.  Jesse, Brayden and Jake would work some more magic late to notch another goal and the IceDogs would take this one 4-2.

Great effort IceDogs...you showed a lot of heart and determination today even when you were taking double and triple shifts---should be in shape for the tournament now!
