IceDogs Wrap Up Round Robin with a Character Building Win!
The IceDog White's faced off against the best team in the league on Friday night in Paisley--the Saugeen Shores Storm #1 team.  The Storm had come out on top in a couple of matches and the IceDogs were looking to even the score.

This game DID NOT start in typical IceDog fashion.  The 'Dogs came flying out of the gate and quickly jumped out to a 2-0 lead.  Brayden P would start the scoring by banging in a rebound after Jesse and Ashley put the puck on net.  Jesse would feed Brayden the puck again in the slot and Brayden quickly capitalized to make it 2-0 'Dogs.  Dylan L. would keep the momentum in the IceDogs favour with a glovely save on a puck that was labelled for the top corner.  The IceDogs relentless checking and pressure would see them keep the 2 goal lead at the first recess.

This was unfamiliar territory for the 'Dogs as they haven't had the lead until late in the game but they showed they knew just what to do.  Smart passes and doing all the little things right kept the Storm at bay.  The Storm would catch a break midway through the frame and close the score to 2-1.  Jesse and Brayden drew up a little play on the bench and worked it to perfection as Brayden threw a cross crease pass to Jesse who snapped it home to get the IceDogs up by 2.  The Storm would bounce back with a crazy bounce that eluded Dylan and the period would end with the IceDogs leading 3-2.

The third period was all IceDogs as they poured on the pressure and checked with a ferocity that couldn't be matched.  The Porter-Jake-Joey line was a force to be reckoned with as they kept their feet moving and forced the Storm into mistakes.  Waylon, Vivian, Cohen and Quinn were reading plays and picking off Storm passes and keeping them to the outside.  The IceDogs were also making some pretty sweet passing plays---Jesse would feed Brayden who drove to the net, sucking a couple of Storm defenders away from the front of the net.  Brayden would sauce one over to Ashley, and she neatly tucked it behind the Storm goalie to put the 'Dogs up by 2.  The Storm would get one back late but the game would end with the IceDogs up 4-3.

The IceDogs finish the round robin at 4-2 and will face the same team (Saugeen Shores #1) in the Championship Final this Thursday in T-Town @ 6:00 in Game #1.

Nice work tonight IceDogs!  You made your coaches and fans proud with your effort and hustle!  Keep up the good work!
