IceDogs Get a Must Win in Listowel
Your U15 IceDogs are in do or die mode now--win and they get the privilege to keep playing...and they were on a mission to win on Wednesday night in Listowel, despite being down a couple of Owens.

With Peyton manning the cage on this night, the IceDogs came out of the gate quick.  Brayden P. and Riley J. burst in on a 2 on 1 and Riley fired it home to get the IceDogs on the board.  The Cyclones countered with a quick goal of their own but Brayden P. and Ethan S. combined for a picture perfect breakout and Riley was the trigger man once again with a backhand snipe this time.  The IceDogs would cap the first period scoring when Ethan S. would score an unassisted marker and the IceDogs were off and running with a 3-1 lead.

The second period saw the D corps get in on the scoring.  First, Alek F. would win a puck battle while on the powerplay and Tyler B. would collect the puck.  A coast to coast rush would result in a top shelf beauty from #17.  Karden C. would gather a puck in the neutral zone and smoothly skate to a good shooting position, firing a low hard wrister by the Listowel goalie.  A timeout by the Cyclones to re-group did manage to stop the bleeding and Peyton L. had to be sharp on a few tough chances against him.  Still, the IceDogs lead 5-1 at the 2nd intermission.

The third period had Coach P. preaching for good habits.  The IceDogs could have been better (they admitted) but still, they did some great things.  Riley capped off the hattrick with another toe drag rip job.  A textbook IceDog goal capped the scoring.  Simon J. won a battle along the wall and fed defenceman Anderson G.  Anderson got his powerful wrister through a crowd where Owen M-8 was waiting to deposit the rebound into Cyclone net.  Make the final 7-1 IceDogs.

The IceDogs needed the win--and one more to advance.  And they will be ready on Saturday when the Drayton Defenders come to Paisley.  They've earned the chance with solid play throughout the playoffs to make the WOAA Final...they need one more win to do it.
