U15 IceDogs Rebound with Win on the Road
Your U15 Rep IceDogs were coming off a tough tie--they outshot and outplayed their opponent but didn't get the 2 points.  They vowed to change that narrative on Monday night.

After a trip through all kinds of road conditions to Seaforth, Dressing Room #4 was alive with an energetic bunch of IceDogs.  But that's this group for you--they come to rink with a purpose and a willingless to play together--that's how they earn their W's.

Today's opponent was Mid-Huron Huskies-a scrappy team that is trying to play spoiler in this year's playoff run.  Things started off like they ended the last game--a ton of shots and chances but no goals for the IceDogs.  And, in typical hockey fashion, down came the Huskies and put one in to take a 1-0 lead after one period of play.

Undaunted, the IceDogs just kept coming.  And a powerplay turned the tide.  Ethan S. and Brayden P would work a give and go and with Riley J. parked out front, he collected his own rebound and had his team on the board.  Owen M-8 would get a nifty backhand goal after Karden C. drove a puck from the blue line that found a seam.  Simon J. would capitalize on a turnover and go the length of the ice on a breakaway, scoring on a beauty forehand deke and it was 3-1.  Brayden P. would get the 4th IceDog goal of the period with a roof job snipe on a beauty pass from Ethan S. (Riley J. would collect the 2nd assist with a nice pass in the neutral zone.)  The IceDogs were humming and it was 4-1 after 2 periods of play.

The third period was a bit scrambly as the Huskies started to run around a bit.  But the IceDogs managed the puck and the game.  First, Austin L. would collect a neutral zone pass (a theme on the night) and turn a Husky defender inside out before going roof job with a beauty.  Anderson G. would score on a bullet from the point after Chris P. and Brayden P. worked the puck to him.  Owen M-8 would get another rebound from Karden C. and put it home (again, on the powerplay) and the IceDogs had a 7-1 lead.  Finally, Tyler B. would break the ankles of a hard-charging Husky forward and snipe a beauty from the point to complete the scoring (assist to Chris P. off a won face-off.)  Owen W. might not have been busy, but made some nifty saves when the game was close to keep the Huskies' off the board.

The IceDogs know things are about to get tougher and the games more meaningful.  But they are ready.  They play the right way, they play for each other and they are hungry.

Next up, a trip to Drayton - Wednesday @ 7:00.
