U15 IceDogs Keep Rolling vs Huskies
Friday night was Hockey Night in Chesley as the U9, U15 and U18 IceDogs hit the ice for big tilts.  Your U15 IceDogs were hosting the Mid-Huron Huskies in Game #3 of the WOAA playoffs, coming off a big win versus the Rebels last time out.

The IceDogs didn't take long to get started in this one.  8 seconds in, Riley J. recovered a dump-in and fed Chris P. for a top shelf beauty and it was 1-0 IceDogs.  The teams settled in after that and play was back and forth for a long stretch, with the IceDogs holding the territorial advantage.  Brayden P. would pick off an errant Huskies pass and with Riley J. driving the net, Brayden would sift a low hard shot by the Huskie tendy for a 2-0 lead at the first recess.

It was during the 2nd period that the IceDogs found their game (coming off a long layoff.)  First, Owen M-8 would score a beauty off a nice play and pass by Ethan S.  Then, Simon J. would go pipe and in after some hard-forechecking by Chris P. and his wingman Owen M-8.  Ethan S. would complete the 2nd period scoring with a hard wrister that went 5-hole and the IceDogs had a well deserved 5-0 lead at the flood.

The coaches were preaching good habits - unselfish, team first hockey.  And the IceDogs delivered in spades.  With a big hole in the lineup (Anderson G.), the IceDogs jostled the positions to fill the void.  The Huskies would get a lucky one early in the 3rd, but the IceDogs were undeterred.  Owen M-8 would get a tap in beauty off great plays by Karden C. and Simon J. and then Simon would deliver on a rebound, assisted by Owen M-8 and Riley J.  Brayden P. would cap the scoring (with 8 seconds left) off a nice pass from Owen M-10 and Chris P.  The IceDogs would skate away with a 8-1 win.

This team has found their identity...unselfish, team first, (and we won't give away our other secrets) but they have proved they love playing for each other and the logo on the front of their jersey.  It's a mindset that goes a long way.  Keep it rolling IceDogs.
