IceDogs Shoot Down the Rebels
The AEMHA PeeWee LL IceDogs had to wait a little longer than they would have liked to face their arch-rival from TCDHMA.  Mother Nature had delayed the game by a few days but the stands were packed and full of anticipation for the final regular season game of the year.

The IceDogs came out hot (on a cold night) and peppered the Rebel goalie with tons of chances.  But the Rebel goalie was was equal to the task and the 'Dogs couldn't get one by him.  With the Rebels riding the strength of their goalie, they would get a lucky bounce and go up 1-0.  Another bullet to the top of the net put the Rebels up by 2 goals as the first period ticked away but the IceDogs continued to carry the bulk of the play.

The IceDogs would finally get rewarded for their hard work early in the 2nd.  Captain Colby would keep a puck in at the blue line and feed Ryan P at the side of the net.  Ryan would direct the puck on net and Eric G. would rip home the rebound to take the rookie scoring lead on the team.  Gavin H. would show why he wears the "A" on his jersey when he "Gallaghered" the Rebels by burying another rebound after some hard work by Alek S. and Ben M. The IceDogs would continue to pour on the pressure but couldn't get the go ahead goal as they skated into the 2nd intermission.

After an inspired plea by Coach Chris to keep the pedal to the metal, the IceDogs went to work.  A trio of Rebel penalties led to a terrific power play by all three IceDog lines.  In the waining seconds of the power play, Rachel L. would dig the puck out of the corner and carry it toward the net.  Avery D. was wreaking havoc in front and Gavin H. would bury his 2nd of the game to give the IceDogs the lead.  The Rebels were desperately trying to get back in the game but the IceDogs were clogging up the neutral zone and checking the Rebels into the ice, frustrating the players and their fans.  Ryan P would win a few late face-offs and Colby H. would collect a loose puck and gallop the length of the ice to put the cherry on top of this one.  The IceDogs would skate away with a well deserved 4-2 win.

The IceDogs are playing playoff hockey late in the season and have rattled off 3 wins in a row.  With the team buying into Coach Chris's style of play, it should be an exciting next few weeks.
