PeeWee LL IceDogs Come Up Just Short vs West-Grey
On a cold, snowy Sunday night, the AEMHA PeeWee LL IceDogs hit the road to battle the Warriors from West-Grey in Durham, Ontario, Canada.  The IceDogs were looking to even the season series at one after falling to West-Grey earlier in the season.

The IceDogs must have been a little cold before this one and came out rather gingerly, losing puck races and watching the game instead of playing it.  Dustin V. had to be sharp a few times to keep the game scoreless.  The IceDogs found the legs later in the period and began to take the play over, with a few dangerous chances being turned aside by the Warrior goaltender.  The Warriors would take advantage of a turnover late in the frame and go up 1-0 as the period came to a close.

The 2nd period was all IceDogs.  Despite having to kill off a penalty, the IceDogs were hounding the puck and getting shots to the net.  The Warrior goalie was equal to the task, despite some grade A scoring chances on tips in front.  The IceDogs kept up the pressure but couldn't get those 2nd and 3rd rebound chances.  But their skating and pressure didn't go unrewarded.  The Warriors began to take penalties when they couldn't keep up.  Despite the solid play, another Warrior break would end up in the back of the IceDog net and it was 2-0 at the 2nd recess.

The IceDogs were down but not out and Ben M. would finally snap the goose egg by firing a dart behind the Warrior goalie (assisted by Dylan and Nayal).  The Warriors continued to take penalties and the IceDogs were applying pressure.  The ice was getting heavy and so were the IceDogs legs and they were unable to get the equalizer and fell 2-1.

This game was much like the past few games--the IceDogs have the puck all game but are snake-bit on the scoreboard.  Despite the score, the IceDogs knew they weren't at their best and know they can be better--we know they will be tonight when the Falcons fly into Paisley for a 7:00 puckdrop.
