IceDogs Tame the Bear
The AEMHA PeeWee LL IceDogs headed east, into the Bear's Den to take on the Jr. Attack on Saturday morning. The IceDogs were coming off a big win against Shallow Lake last Saturday (I never get tired of saying that!)
Right out the gate, the IceDogs were flying, led by the Twin Towers, Colby and Austin. The twin killing game with carbon copy end-to-end rushes and the IceDogs were off and running. Larkin G. would hit the scoresheet next by banging in a Ryan P rebound and Colby would net another as the IceDogs cruised to an early 4-0 lead. The Attack would score late off a face-off to close the gap to 4-1.
Not sure if the IceDogs let off the trottle, or the Attack pushed back but the 2nd period was a more even match-up with neither side netting a tally. Penalty trouble seemed to disrupt the IceDogs mojo but they still hung on to a 4-1 lead.
The IceDogs collected another goal as the Larkin-G.-Ryan P and Eric G. line went to work early. Cycling the puck down low and winning puck battles, Larkin would score her 2nd of the game by knocking another loose puck around the net. Colby would score another and Dylan P would fire a wicked wrister into the basket, after some hard work by his line mates, Ben and Alex. Avery, Gavin and Rachel didn't hit the scoresheet but they played a solid 2 way game and were dangerous all morning. Nayal, Daemyn and Dominque were steady on the back end with solid decision making coming out of the IceDog zone.
It wasn't our prettiest game and we know we can be better but a win is a win. Thanks to Coach "Bubba" Chris and Amy for organizing the after party.
