Mount Forest came to Paisley and eked out a hard fought 3-2 sudden death OT 10 minute win, surprising Brianna!!!
With MM working in the timers booth, RRR filled in and got cold feet standing in front of the only heater not working, but the fast paced game warmed them up as the Bantam Ice Dogs treated us to a spirited game.
A 'suspect' kneeing penalty against us early started the shooting barrage against Lawson, who saved many hard shots to keep the game at zeros, but on the 11th shot MF finally scored, and the first period ended them up 1-0.
The second period continued on a fast paced theme, and we finally got on the score sheet after Brock took a shot on net, and on our 8th shot Brandon put the puck into the low right corner to tie it at 1-1. We then had to kill off a 4 minute penalty, but unfortunately they scored around the halfway mark of the penalty, and we were down 2-1 after the second period, being outshot 30-10 making Awesome Lawson a busy guy.
The third period was a spirited affair with lots of hard hitting and some decent passing and with Jason R playing forward for some much needed hustle and scoring, the Ice Dogs responded with Mitch F passing out to Jason who banged in the puck to send us going into the 10 minute sudden death OT period.
This made us play even harder with 'Big Wheel' among other players almost winning the game for us. But with the shots being at 53 to 16, our luck ran out and we got burnt on a 2 on 1, making Mount Forest 3-2 winners of a game that we could of easily be won by us also.
We Ice Dogz deserved better but hang your heads high, the round robin continues !!!
