IceDogs Chase the Puck To Another Win
Playing in Chesley against the Saugeen Shore team, the IceDogs kept their cool, their sticks on the ice  and their winning streak alive.  Final score of  5 to 1.

The IceDogs went right to work  and when Saugeen Shores got their first penalty just two minutes into the game, Josh made sure to take full advantage of the situation and got the first goal for the Dogs at 7:07.   Thirty seconds later, Jay got the puck over to Brandon who passed it to Jason and it was 2 to 0.  Josh almost had a second goal in this period, when he put the puck right on the top of their net in the last couple minutes of play!  The SS would get a penalty to end this period which would give us the advantage for forty seconds in the next.

The second saw the increase of weight being thrown around.  Saugeen Shores could hit.  Jay and Mason both hit the ice at the start of the period and shortly after, the SS were on the board.  The Dogs answered that shortly when Mitch Two (or Fausty) stole the puck right off their stick on their blueline, skated to center and flicked the puck to the back of the net. 3  to 1.  Brad received a trip to the box of shame that was only a SS powerplay for 9 seconds, and then it was 4 on 4.  There were some great opportunities for both teams.  Lawson again demonstrated the definition of "awesome".  Clay had a huge "almost", and same with Faust and Matt.  Mason fired one at the Shores' goalie that went right up his sleeve!  The Dogs gave the other team another powerplay chance in the final minutes, but you really couldn't tell they had an extra skater at this point.  Dogs were on fire!

Saugeen Shores got a rare 5 on 3 chance, early in the final period, for a few seconds.  But no damage done.   This period was also a learning period when there was a call for head contact and a Shore player was hurt behind their net.  Lawson left his net and went near his bench, but that was against a rule.  When play started again, our net was briefly empty when he had to skate in from the bench.  Very exciting!  Then Lawson demonstrated some "stop, drop and roll" techniques.  The Clay and Mitch'es line was on fire around the three minute mark with some great passing and the SS goalie was working hard.  Then Brandon got on the ice and demonstrated why the fans call him Matrix, for an unassisted goal at 2:57.  4 to 1.  There would be one more goal with only .37 left, when Brandon and Bradley got the puck to Josh, who got the first and the last goals of this game.  As the clock ran down, Lawson was tested one final time, but the Saugeen Shores were done for the night.  Dogs are still running!!      Final  5 to 1.
