Christmas break and beginning of 2015 has been a mixed bag of results for the LL Bantam Ice Dogs !!!
It started off with 2 'home and away'  exhibition games against  division leading Goderich that taught us a lot about hockey teamwork.

In the first game, after following behind 4-0 in the first period, we woke up in the second and third periods as Mitch VV scored on his own rebound in the second. The third had Mitch VV bang in Tylers shot and Tyler followed with another goal off the post to end the game with a 5-3 loss. The second game ended in a 4-2 loss, Conlan and Todd providing the goals, and Josh providing the assists. Lawson stood on his head in both games to give us a chance to redeem our selves against Mount Forest.
This game today was a team building affair to prove that we as a team learned something from the 'schooling' we got by Goderich. We came out full of energy and plenty of shots and it produced two goals by Mitch VV, both assisted by Tyler and we were up 2-1 after the first period.
More pressure and shots gave us four more goals, started by Todd with a one-handed, slow motion deke goal. Mitch VV then fed a streaking Parker with a pass and he ringed it off the post and in. Then Mitch K fired a point shot that rebounded to Mitch VV who sent the puck into the back of the net, and Mitch K again sent the puck to Tyler who deked the goalie and we ended the second period up 6-1.
Lawson was 'flashing the leather' on many highlight saves and the goal parade continued in the third period, as Tyler scored again with a top shelf goal, followed by a nice pass from a falling Connor to Mitch VV on a 'tip in', and finished off with Tyler passing to Connor who put the puck just over the goal line (get the broom out on that goal).
This game was a total team effort with many 'heads-up' plays to produce a 9-1 win!!!
