Two weekend games by the LL Bantams made for some interesting last minute wins !!!
These Ice Dog players seem to take the 'Maple Leaf' way of winning, as they squeaked out a 2-1 win over Shallow Lake Lakers and a 4-2 win over the Bruce Peninsula Northstars.
The first game started off in the first with Brandon PP firing a nice screen shot between the legs, quickly followed by another goal by Mitch VV, who came in alone and deposited the puck in the top shelf (which turned out to be the winning goal). The Lakers took it to us in the second, and after scoring a PP goal, we lead the game 2-1 going into the third period. This period was again another race to the end, as after some penalties by both teams and a goalie 'pull' by the Lakers with 48 seconds left, this game ended 2-1 for the Ice Dogs.
Game two had us scoring first again, as we put the pressure on the Northstars and Nate K fired a point shot in. The second period was switched around, and the Northstars ended up with penalty troubles, but they scored on us(down two skaters) and scored another before we responded on a Brock M top shelf goal, making it 2-2 going into the third period. This period we pulled away in the game on a PP goal with a sweet ' give and go' by Connor W to Tyler C, and later by Mitch VV, who scooter down the ice, got spun around and passed over to Todd J, who slid the puck between the legs of the Northstar goalie, and the game ended 4-2.
