Big game at the Plex
It was our players first game at the Plex and they were up for the challenge of a much bigger ice surface!!  If only the first 30 seconds of the game could be skated over again.

The Storm scored 2 quick goals in that time frame yet our Dogs did not give up on each other and showed amazing competitive spirit throughout the game.  The Storm really didn't know what was coming there way!!  This game had super Nathan between the pipes and he played awesome! The Storm tried many different ways to score, yet Nathan shut them down with pad saves, kick saves, nice glove saves and there was the mad scramble and I don't think anyone in the stands knew where that puck was!!  Thanks Nathan!!  Wyatt helped out back on defense as well, not sure who was playing goal at times, but that is what team work entails.  Austin made some great plays on the blue line, too bad about that penalty, no big deal.  The penalty kill was super, the Storm did not get the puck out of their end at all.  Nice work by everyone.  Halle and Grace are the up and coming defense-girls, wow what can I say, these two are strong and don't take anything from the boys!!  Ryan, has found his position as a solid forward and placed himself in-front of the net, keep shooting buddy, you will get it in!!  Kolby, not sure what to say, he was up and down the ice, checking, digging and a great leader both on and off the ice.  Joshua, a great night for him, as he skated and did some nice moves in getting the puck forward and was rewarded with a goal.  JJ, works hard skating and digging along the boards, the pressure on the other team is fantastic too see, keep up the good work!  George, you certainly make the game exciting too watch, if he can't get the puck onto his stick, well he just kicks it with his skate and keeps on moving!  Nice play George!  Tina proved that girls can play hockey and she did not give up and scored her first goal of the season.  Way to go!

Again, the final score was 3-2 loss yet our Dogs kept up the pace and skated with and ahead of the Storm, controlled the play and should be extremely proud of how they played.  With each game and practice, we all see such great improvements in all players.  Well done guys and gals!

I would like to take this time and say that, as a parent of a first year novice player, I would like to give a huge hockey helmet salute to all of the second year players.  Wyatt, JJ, Austin,Nathan and Kolby, you all have given our first year players amazing encouragement both on and off the ice, helped with positions, off-sides and many more areas of the game.  I am so proud of you all, it is a testament of what a team is and can develop into!! Agaon, thank you!!

Next up for our Dogs, Friday night practice at 7pm in Chesley.
Keep your stick on the ice and don't give up chasing that puck!!
