Hockey day in Arran-Elderslie
Well, it was an early morning for both Ice Dog teams, as they took to the ice to kick-off the 2nd Annual Hockey day in Arran-Elderslie celebrations. I am not sure if it is the early morning game or the sugar rush from lastnight's Halloween festivities, but what a game!!
As the sugar was wearing off, the red vs white dogs hit the ice, at 8:00 Am. For those early-risers, they were treated to end-to-end rushes and terrific saves by both goalies. The first period battle, ended in a 0-0 tie. The action continued through-out the second, with the dogs digging hard for the puck, making great passes and the white dogs getting on the board first. End of the second, 1-0 for the mighty whites. The third period saw more and more determination from each Ice Dog, regardless of the jersey colour!! The spirit of this great Canadian game was both seen and heard from the stands and the bench. The red dogs did manage to sneak a goal in from a-long shot, to tie the game. Final score, 1-1 tie!! That's great hockey, each dog should be proud of how they played, with many improvements seen from the last game. Way to go Dogs!!
