A week of tricks and treats
Halloween.  A time of dubious sights, nasty tricks, and sweet treats.  And for the Ice Dogs, it was a week of all three.

Unleashed Monday night in Keady, the Ice Dogs managed to pick up their first win of the season against TCDMHA.  In a whole team effort from the net out, our guys managed to outlast the Chatsworth crew and get their first W.  Rumours around the dressing room now abound.  A Hallowe'en "curse".  'Ric has missed two games and both were games where we earned points'.  Even my son wants somebody else to drive him now!

Saturday's post-Halloween affair in Palmerston was, well, scary, to put it mildly.  The Mad Dogs are a very talented group, and set out to dominate from the 9 second mark with their first goal.  And with a "motivated" coaching staff that was a little late in calling off his dogs, it was a game that would try anyone's patience.  Let's not forget the phantom call: ref's arm goes up, Mad Dog goes down, 2:00 penalty assessed, player does not report to penalty box, game goes on.  Even stranger, Will scores.  Is this a powerplay goal?  How about another gory sight? Three penalties on the board for Minto, two people in the box.  One gets out, then gets called back.  Clearly the Palmerston barn is haunted!

So, the week comes to a close and our Dogs earned one treat, and were subjected to a nasty trick.  Seems about right for the week of Halloween.

Next action is Wednesday against South Bruce.  Let's put Halloween behind us, and get into the season of giving.  We can start by giving the South Bruce crew a big ol' loss.  Let it snow.
