A squeaky win to a barn burner in just two days.
Two games on the weekend resulted in the U15 Rep team coming home with 3 points.

With the halfway mark of the season creeping up on us, the U15 rep squad is perhaps finding its own identity.
With Friday night games being a challenge in the past, the group was looking to change that trend.

Our opponents Friday night were the Listowel Cyclones AE team. Perhaps this was the night to shed the Friday night game jitters and come out of the gates firing on all cylinders.
The Icedogs were shuffled off their game with the chippy and scrappy style of play by their opponent.

Although outshooting their opponent for the first period, the Icedogs found themselve down a goal by the end of the first period. A couple trips to the sin bin did not help our efforts.

As the second period got underway, the jabs and stabs continued in the scrums. Finally with about half the period in the books, Chris P with help from George P and Anderson G, put us even with Listowel. Shortly after, a bad timing hit gave Listowel the powerplay with 1:50 left to play. Listowel capitalized on the man advantage, getting the go ahead goal with seconds left in the period.

A frustrated group returned to the dressing room for the flood,  down a goal to an opponent they all knew they could handle. Only one period left to pull it together and play the game they know they can play.

The remainder of the 3rd was all in the Listowel end and with just over a minute to play, Riley J netted the equalizer from Spencer H and Avery D.

With only 36 seconds left to play, a stacked line resulted in Spencer H giving us the go ahead goal to squeak out the win.

On Saturday, the team travelled to Seaforth for an evening game with the Stars. Down a player for a suspension from the game before, the team knew this was going to be a tougher opponent than the day before, the boys were in a different mind set. Pucks to the net and win the little battles. It was a back and forth battle in a game that showed our grit. Yes we took the foot off the gas a few times but our lads showed determination and just kept battling back. Each team answering goal for goal in a game that ended in a barn burning 8-8 draw.
Goals were from all over the roster, Riley J for two, George I, Spencer H, Cayden H, Avery D, Ryan P and Cayden H.
It wasn't always pretty, but determination prevailed and the boys held their heads high after walking away with a point.
Next up is West Grey Friday night in Chesley. Let's see if we can shed those Friday night jitters!
