In Sickness and Health, we are a team!
On Sunday afternoon, your U11 Rep Icedogs took on the Central Perth Predators. Once again our bench was shortened due to covid. Our crew rallied and in the words of Joe Bowen "Game over, game over! Bless you kids, what a game!"
Before our crew hit the ice the kids did a shout out to the teammates we were missing today. This game they played was for you.
First period started off quick at just 1:17 in the game Hunter T scores our first unassisted. Jack T had to come up strong in the first as well as he was faced with 2 quick shots half way through the first from Central Perth. Jackson M found the back of the net next with assists going to Connor H, and Kane W, ending the first at 2-0.
Second period didn't see any goals but that wasn't for lack of trying. Hit a few cross bars, had a couple fanned shots, and couple go over the net. We played most of the period in Central Perth's end, with once again strong performance from our Defense Landon S, Sam F, AP Sawyer M and RW playing back on the point for us today Paysen H keeping pucks in deep in CP end zone.
Third period. The time we shine, the period we train for. We played some scrappy, desperate, and strong hockey (in the words from Coach Brent). No better way to describe it really. Jackson M was up first to score in the 3rd with the assist going to Bennett B. Just over 3 minute's later Connor H scores unassisted making it a 4-0 game. Central Perth managed to squeak one past Jack T, but our little line wasn't done just yet. Connor H scores his second of the game assisted by Hunter T ending the game at a 5-1 final.
Next action will see your U11 take on TCDMHA on March 3 at the Ol Tara Barn @7:15pm. Hopefully we will have our full crew back on the bench!! Big shout out to Bronson B, Landry W and Avery W , also our 2 AP's that joined our squad today Sawyer M and Kane W.
