Final Blog of the Atom Rep Year
The AEMHA Atom Rep IceDogs took to the ice this weekend in the Elmvale Maple Syrup Festival Hockey Tournament.

The IceDogs played 9 periods of hockey this weekend and were arguably the better team in 6 or even 7 of the 9 periods.  Some hard luck, and bounces not going their way was really the only reason they weren't able to advance to the championship portion of the tournament.

However, if you were lucky enough to be in Wasaga Beach on Saturday, you witnessed one of the all-time great moments in hockey history...the hockey gods had frowned on the IceDogs most of the season but for the final minute of the final game, the stage was set of a great moment.

A grumpy, unsportsmanlike opposition coach, some IceDog players, coaches and fans hungry for a goal had Landon B. dancing in alone and potting a last second goal to send the IceDogs into a frenzy as the rushed off the bench to celebrate.

Words actually can't describe the moment but it was all you need to know about this team...success can't always be measured in Wins and Losses...sometimes, it is moments like that that make you realize what a great team ACTUALLY is...I think I speak for all the coaches and players and fans--it felt like we just won the Stanley Cup--I can't imagine winning the tournament would have felt much better than that moment.

Well done IceDogs--see you at the Banquet on Thursday!
