Atom Rep IceDogs Give Central Perth a Scare!
The AEMHA Atom IceDogs were on the road once again to Monkton to tangle with the Predators.  Determined to not let the previous 2 games define their season, Coach Chad had the IceDogs ready for this one.

I'll give the Predators credit...they are opportunistic and when they get chances, they bury them.  Once again, they pounced on some chances to go up 2-0 early in the first.  But the IceDogs rebounded nicely and took the play to the Preds after that and finished the first period having the decided advantage in play.

The 2nd period was another great period of hockey for the IceDogs as they pursued the puck and checked like the team we have come to know this season.  The D-corps were particularly sharp and never gave the Preds a good look at an equally sharp Owen W.  The forwards were back checking hard too and desperately trying to get the pucks to the net.  An unfortunate missed icing call and a turnover led to another Predator goal and the period would end 3-0.

The third period started with big Anderson G. standing up for his goalie and taking a penalty on an unfortunate call.  The Preds once again pounced but it was still the IceDogs holding the play.  Finally, after working the puck in deep, the dangerous all day Kid Line of Owen M-Ethan S. and Brayden P. nicked the twine.  Some great work by the D to keep the puck in led to Owen M. cycling the puck down low.  Brayden P. got to the puck first and fed cousin Ethan S. for a post and in shot for the IceDogs first goal of the game.  The IceDogs would nick the post shortly after that and were full marks for a great effort.  Carter G. would get the crowd on their feet with a thundering hit at the blue line as he stood up for himself and his teammates late in the game.  Despite the great effort, the IceDogs would unfortunately succumb 4-1 and the series goes to the Central Perth Predators.

The IceDogs showed the world they can play with anyone and with efforts like that (support, support, support!), good things are yet to come for this up and coming squad.
