This past weekend the Novice rep IceDogs headed to Saugeen Shores for the Chris Knott Memorial Tournament
Starting Friday the IceDogs were pitted against some very tough competition. Teams that have been playing together for a long time and understood what it takes to win games.
The team had their eyes opened just a bit Friday afternoon and from then on, gradually became more driven, competitive and quicker.
Because of the stronger teams, all players took a step forward with their growth as a person and a player. Both goalies - Michael M and Aidan S, played well and made exceptional saves! They battled hard and never quit. The forwards and defence became more and more competitive and learned that you have to work for your space on the ice and that no one is going to give you an inch. You have to earn everything you get.
While the scoreboard showed wins in the other teams favour, the growth and understanding and experience learned from this tournament was invaluable for each and everyone's growth as a player!
Made the coaches proud! Great learning experience and now let's take what we learned and apply it to the regular season!
