Weekend Wrap Up
This past weekend Old Man Winter finally decided to show up and wreak havoc on the Bruce Grey Area.  That did not deter the Novice Rep IceDogs as they headed down to Teeswater for a game against South Bruce Blades...

Friday night- probably the nastiest yet of the winter season, the team headed down the road through the blowing and snowing conditions in search of another solid game.  A couple days off from school and you could see these kids were restless and ready to go.

From the drop of the puck the IceDogs continued their now standard attack plan. Always on the puck and never letting go - like a dog on a bone -  continuing to have pressure on the opposing team.

An early couple of goals and the IceDogs relaxed a bit, only only to find out quickly that you can never relax in this league as the Blades pounded one into the back of the net to creep back into the game.

Continuous checking and speedy play kept the play in the Blades end, with the final result a 3-1 victory making the almost hour long drive enjoyable.

The IceDogs did not have long to celebrate the win as they were back at it Saturday afternoon hosting the Rebels from TCDMHA.

The Rebels who were persistent all game opened the scoring with a nice play that found the back of the net.  The IceDogs then immediately got back into the game and fired a quick three past the Rebel goalie to make it 3-1 at the end of the first.

As mentioned the Rebels never quit, scoring twice more in the second and once in the third. However they fell short as the IceDogs managed to keep the puck moving and blocking lanes - making it for very tough work to try and get an inch of ice.  In the end the IceDogs come out 6-4 victors.

The  team played well both games this past weekend. Especially of defence and in goal where both goalies had a start and both made great saves to help the IceDogs get the win.

Once again it was teamwork that won the games for the IceDogs.  Battling, being on their toes and helping each other.

Great Weekend Team and let's get ready for next Saturday.
