Solid Game vs The Lakers
On a cold windy January Sunday, the Novice Rep IceDogs headed North for a late afternoon game versus the Lakers of Shallow Lake.
Coming off a strong showing last weekend - becoming Champs of the AEMHA Novice Rep Tournament, the IceDogs continued to play strong and fast yesterday. Catching the Lakers whenever the IceDogs did not have the puck and keeping their scoring chances to a minimum.
Team play was the name of the game yesterday, highlighted by a nice dig of the puck out of the corner by Jesse P to Connor B who passed to Aden M for the score, and as well a spectacular end to end rush by Gryphon B - walking through everyone and then sliding it unselfishly across the crease to a wide open Aden M who just tapped it it.
Goalie Michael M made exceptional saves including a highlight reel toe kick save that kept the momentum on the IceDog's side
The defense core of Owen W, Avery W, Cohen H, William M and Waylon G, battled every chance they had, keeping the puck in the Laker end and getting the puck out of their own, as well as protecting their goalie.
In the end the IceDogs ended up with a 3-1 win.
A good solid game and it is nice to see the players continue to put the team goals ahead of their own!
