Tough Loss to Round Out the Weekend
Sunday afternoon, the Blades from South Bruce made the trek up to Paisley to battle the high flying Novice Rep IceDogs...

With the IceDogs coming off a big win the day before, the pace of play was a little slow to start the game.  Halfway through the first the Blades got to a loose puck and banged it in to get the scoring started.

In the second red hot Connor B picked up a pass from Cohen H and blasted one over the head of the blades goalie to knot the game up at 1 a piece.  The tie was quickly erased when the Blades battled all the way down the ice and managed to squeak one into the net.

The IceDogs were a different team in the third.  Led by pesky Anthony K, they were relentless in their pursuit for the puck.  Play was a bit scrambled at times however neither team gave an inch and pushed each other to their limits.  Gryphon B grabbed the puck and wired one on net that went off the goal stick and onto the stick of you know who - Connor B - who banged in his second of the game.

The Blades didn't quit.  Instead they broke loose and buried another to once again go up by one.  In the dying minutes of the game with the goal empty, the Blades finished it off with an open netter.  The IceDogs valiantly tried to get back into the game with a Connor B blast over the goalies head again but it was too little too late.

There were some highlights in the game.  Great plays by Owen W and Jesse P to backcheck hard and break up some plays.  Cohen H and Avery W had excellent games on the defense, while Anthony K was persistent in both ends.  It seemed like he was everywhere breaking up plays and attacking the South Bruce team.

This should be a great rivalry as the season moves on.

Some lessons learned in this game.  Now we move on to the Chris Knott Memorial tournament this weekend...
