IceDogs Run into a Hot Goalie
On Saturday the Novice Rep IceDogs took to the ice in Paisley for a matinee game against the Shallow Lake Lakers
If the previous games versus the Lakers had shown anything, this one would be another great game that pitted two teams that are very similar.
After a fairly quiet week the IceDogs roared out of the gate and created an avalanche of chances in the first period. Both forward lines were charging into the Laker end and getting some quality shots. The Laker goalie had to make some spectacular saves especially a nice little drive from the off wing by Owen M. The period ended with no scoring
The second and the third periods were pretty much similar to the first. Both teams battling hard and trying to out do each other getting the the puck and pressing in each end. The Lakers proved the old saying that you never stop battling until you hear the whistle as they battled in front of the IceDog net and got a couple bang ins to go up by 2.
In the end that was the difference. It was a tough loss but a good effort on both sides. The little bit of shenanigans after the game may make the next game between these 2 teams one to mark on your calendar!
Great game guys. Now time to get ready for Hanover this weekend!
