Big Win for the IceDogs
Today the Novice Rep IceDogs headed down Highway 6 for their second game against the Mount Forest Rams...

From the first drop of the puck you could tell the boys were ready to go.  With extended periods of time spent in the Mount Forest end, the IceDogs showed how much they wanted the puck.  Digging and pressuring the puck along with the defense pinching and keeping the puck in the mount forest end, it was only a matter of time before they lit the the lamp.  Near the end of the  first Ethan S. broke loose, took a pass from Karden C. and buried one past the Mount Forest goalie.

Early on in the second Braden N. blasted one on net, Owen M. tried a shot side shot only to hit the outside of the post, when Gryphon B. picked up the rebound, spun around and fired one up and over the goalie into the far corner to have the boys go up by 2.  The Novice Rep IceDogs didn't stop there.  Up by 2 they kept their foot on the gas and kept pressure in the Mount Forest end.  When the puck did end up in the the Icedog end, the defense made the play to the winger or carried it out and led the attack back into the Mount Forest end.

In the third,  goalie Peyton L. had to come up big as a couple of times the Mount Forest players found themselves behind the IceDog defense and broke in all alone on Peyton L.  who made big beautiful glove hands saves to keep the puck out of the net.  Near the 6 minute mark of the third Owen M. found the puck in his own end, maneuvered around a couple Ram players and broke in all alone and buried one past the Ram goalie.

Mount Forest got on the scoreboard shortly after, ending Peyton L.'s chance at a shutout, pulled their goalie to try and force the play on the IceDogs.  However the boys played strong and tough and kept them at bay.  Final buzzer and a 3-1 win for the Novice Rep IceDogs.

Great play was shown up and down the line up with each player making sacrifices to break up plays and get the puck out.  Anthony K. showed it doesn't matter how big you are - it is what is inside of you that counts. He made checking play after checking play, separating players from the puck and keeping the puck in the Ram end.
Owen M. crashing into the boards after doing everything he could to get the puck out.  Hudson J. Carter G. and Braden N.  held the line and refused to let anyone by them.  Alek F. owned the IceDog end, controlling the play moving the puck up and as well leading the attack with a couple of spectacular rushes.  Ian M. and Karden C  kept the play moving forward, feeding their line mates and digging the puck out of the corners.

Great game guys.  Enjoy it and get ready for tomorrow when we face West Grey.
