Novice Rep Ice Dogs vs Peninsula Shores Predators
The Novice Rep Ice Dogs looked to add to the win column as they hosted the Peninsula Shores Predators on Saturday morning.

The Ice Dogs had travelled to Lion's Head to tangle with the Predators a few weeks ago in a spirited affair and were looking for redemption.  The two teams started out strong with some terrific end to end action.  Ice Dog net minder Peyton L. was particularly sharp in the early going while the Ice Dogs found their legs.  Penn Shores broke the deadlock with a goal midway through the first.

The second would start with the Ice Dogs applying some early pressure.  Ian M. made a brilliant play along the boards, digging the puck out to a waiting Landon B. who blew by a couple of Predators and ripped a goal top shelf to knot the game at a goal apiece.  However, the Predators took advantage of a couple of Ice Dog mistakes inside their own zone and grabbed a 3-1 lead at the intermission.

After the Predators scored again to make it 4-1, the Ice Dogs made a late push but couldn't seem to get through the tough team defence of the Predators.  After a late face-off deep in their own end, Landon B. and Austin L. worked some chip and chase action to work the puck deep into the Predator zone.  Brayden P would notch his first of the season by going to the "house" and slipping a rebound by the stunned Predator goalie.  That would end the scoring and the Ice Dogs came out on the wrong side of a 4-2 score.

Lots of great things to build on as we travel to Keady to battle the Rebels on Monday night.
