Sunday afternoon the Novice Rep IceDogs traveled to Wingham to take on the Ironmen for the second time in this Playoff round robin.
It was like Deja Vu, the similarities between Sunday's game and Saturday's game were uncanny. Once again these two well matched teams gave the crowd a great game to watch.
Two minutes in to the first period
Ryan D. with the help of
Kayden W. gave the IceDogs their first goal.
Maddux O. decided they needed some insurance and took no time adding one more to the scoreboard with a little help from
Cayden H. The Ironmen couldnt let that sit for too long and retaliated with a goal of the own with just 3 minutes left in the first.
Both teams battled throughout the second period but it was a stalemate and the period ended with the score remaining at 2-1 IceDogs.
Period 3 was more of the same action from both teams. With the shots on net racking up on both sides.
Mitchell H. brought the IceDogs score up to 3.
The Coaching staff took advantage of a Time-Out to strategize and refuel. The Ironmen once again pulled their goalie in a last ditch effort to even the score. But again it was not enough, final score 3-1 IceDogs.
