Fresh off a couple of close losses the Novice Rep IceDogs and their fans were ready for a win. Like every other game in this playoff season so far the teams did not disappoint. On Saturday March 6th the Novice Rep IceDogs and the Wingham Ironmen, two well matched teams, played hard and fast.
The IceDogs came out hard in the first period, knowing every goal could be the winning goal in these close scoring games.
Ryan D. didn't keep the fans waiting he took his turn to score with some help from
Kayden W. a little past the halfway mark in the first period. The Ironmen took this as their cue to push back harder ending the first period tied at 1-1.
IceDogs Goaltender
Tyson L. decided that was the last puck the Ironmen were getting past him. He held them off throughout period two while
Emmett J. and
Cayden H. brought the score up to 3-1 IceDogs with assists by
Mitchell H. and
Emmett J.
Now it was the Ironmens Goaltenders turn to decide enough was enough. Although the IceDogs had many good scoring chances they were unable to add to the score. The Ironmen made every effort, even going so far as to pull their goalie, however they were unable to overtake the IceDogs two goal lead.
