Saved the best for last !!!
Shallow Lake Lakers came to Paisley to take us on for the last game of the year, and it was a wild final game.
Right from the puck drop, Pee Wee Red was on the Lakers butts with some aggressive play, getting right on the SL players plan of attack and shutting it down. This gave us a power play which produced a goal on a point shot by Mitch K, deflecting off a SL player and landing in the back of the net.
The second period saw our four defencemen Gavin, Mitch K, Andrew, Connor pinching in on the play constantly and after one of those pinches, Mitch VV banked a shot off of a SL players leg and into the net, putting us up 2-1 going into the third period.
The 'hustle' continued throughout the last period and after a SL goal, Brock came out from behind the net and fired a shot into the far side of the net to put us up 3-2 with minutes to go in the game. Then after pulling their goalie, Shallow Lake buzzed all around our net but in the end the Red Ice Dogs stayed back and protected our goalie Bradley who made great saves all game and we finished the Lakers off with a well played game to end the regular season.
Way to come together as a team Ice Doggies, bring on the playoffs !!!
