Tough weekend for the Ice Dog Reds...
As we played back-to-back away games and came home with some lessons to be learned.

Friday night had us in Southampton to play Saugeen Shores #1. The 1st period was a back and forth game, with lots of pressure in their end and great goaltending by Tatum.
That continued into the 2nd period, and we were rewarded with a nice 3-way play with Jordan and Tie doing the grunt work behind the net and Mitch V V tapping in the loose puck to score a hard earned goal. S.S. replied with a power play goal later on, and the play slowed down quite a bit.
The third period had S.S. score right away with a good high shot and the see-saw game continued on until Jordan got roughed up and took two guys to the penalty box with him, and then almost scored late in the game on a break-away during the power play, but the game ended in a 2-1 loss.
The team needs to work as a team and not shoot the puck down the ice right after they get it...relax a little Ice Dogs and we will get a better result.

Saturday afternoon in Walkerton had us again playing 'run and gun' hockey with a fast skating team, but the mistakes began to catch up with us at the end of the period, and it ended 4-0 after the 1st period.
The 2nd period had us playing better postional play and more shots on net, with Hayden scoring a nice deflected point shot, and the period ended 5-1.
The third period was tough on the team, but as a team we need to remember to stay with our man and take the time with the puck and look for your team mates and pass the puck and move up the ice ' as a team ' ... working together and knowing where you want and should go with the puck will produce much better results for your team.

You can do this Ice Dogs :-)
