Ice Dogs Red win 4-2 over Ice Dog White to win "C" final...
The Ice Dog Red finished 3rd in the Pee Wee LL tournament in Chesley to cap off an excellent day of hockey.
The first game at 8 am was against Hanover and was a tight game back and forth with Hanover playing a rough and tumble game, producing 5 power plays for us. Hanover scored the only goal in the first period, with Tatum making many saves to keep us in the game.
In the second period, Tie J scored with assists to Brianna and Hayden, to tie it up for the Ice Dogs. The rest of the game was played out like a 'early morning' game does, and it ended up a 1-1 game.
Game two at 10 am was against Minto(who won the tourney) and Mitch V V started things off with a bank shot in the first, but in the second period, Minto put the pressure on and popped in three goals, but Tie J replied wth a behind the net goal to make it 3-2 going into the third.
The team played hard in the third, but with Minto scoring one more goal, the game ended in a 4-2 loss.
The third game at 2pm for third place saw us take on old Ice Dogs White, and it was another exciting game between the two AE teams. Tie J scored the first goal on a funny bounce, and into the second period the Red Dogs put in another goal by Brianna (her first of the year) from a nice pass by Mitch V V.
The third period had us pressing for more goals, and Jordan did that with a nice wrister, assisted by James W, and another first goal of the year, this time by Conor Mc. The game finished with a 4-2 win and third place in the tournament.
Thanks to all the parents and helpers from Ice Dog Red, and a big thank-you to Jen Woodroffe and Brandi Gowan for all their help and time putting on this well run tournament (the puck toss was great).
