Fantastic game right down to the last second...
The Ice Dogs came out hitting last night as the Pee Wee LL team took on the West Grey #2 team in Paisley.
The first period started with end to end rushes by both teams, and the Ice Dogs couldn't capitalize on three power play chances given up by a rough West Grey team.
The second period had more of the same hustle to it by both teams again, and we opened the scoring on a nice play by Jordan O, who after a dump out by Hayden G, chased down the puck and swooped in from the right side and while falling down, fired the puck into the far side. Tatum E made many great saves all game long to keep the team in the game and heading into the third period with a 1-0 lead.
The last period continued with the fast paced play again, until halfway through, West Grey scored two quick goals in 38 seconds to change the game in a hurry. True to Ice Dog form, we took the play to the visiting team, and after a West Grey penalty with 1:29 to go, we pulled our goalie with 30 plus seconds to go, making it an exciting game to the final buzzer.
We came so close to ending the game in a tie ... nice effort Ice Dogs
