Who Has the Luck Now?
It begins.  We begin 2013 with a series against Lucknow.  They are a fine team, but the IceDogs have decided to make 2013 a great year! Using their hockey skills and their brains, the Doggies have made their presence known with a solid win.  Final 5 to 3.

The first series and the Dogs were prepared.  Our backup goalie (#27) Ashlynn was on hand. The first period flew by.  Lucknow scored first, but the Doggies were passing and worked to keep the pressure on.  At 2:11 on the clock, Bradley (#21) passed it to Jason (#88) to tie the score.  Then the excitement grew with only 15 seconds left, Lawson (#8) scored,  with the assists to Jaden (#9) and Bradley (#21).
Tyson (#1) was standing on his head to start the second period, to keep us in the hunt.  The Dogs fired up and at 5:06, Chase (#6) worked his way through the Lucknow line to lift it over the goalie's glove.  Lucknow responded to test Tyson, but no luck.  Austin (#16) worked his way into their end and score our fourth goal at 2:44. The IceDogs end the period with Tyson making a might glove save.
The last period had moments of fans chewing their nails.  We get our three penalties in this period and at one point, it is 5 against 3 for what seems like an eternity.  But some excellent penalty killers got to work and no goals were scored.  Lucknow, however, started to get their second wind; a goal at 12:05, the opportunities of a two man advantage, and they get another goal at 2:56.  Now the IceDogs are holding on with their toes to a single goal lead.  With less than a minute left, Lawson (#8) picked up the puck and ran with it.  At the last second, he passes to the puck over to Jaydn (#9) for the insurance goal!  (Please note:  the scoresheet awarded the points to Corson and Chase.  But my notes differed from official.)  The luck was with the Dogs at this game!
