Should've Drooled On Them! Rebels Moving On
Despite the valiant efforts of the Atom Rep IceDogs and a passionate game, the Rebels squeaked by us with a 4 to 3 win in Paisley on a snowy night.  It was great hockey for the entire series and the parents couldn't be prouder of their Doggies!

For the seventh time, the IceDogs encountered the Rebels of Alphabet Soup land and the teams were really getting to know each other well.  Not necessarily always in a good way, either.
The game started with another piece of equipment making a break for it from our lead goalie.  Again, Ashlynn was there to step between the pipes.  We started this game right away with a penalty, but killed it off nicely.    The first goal of the game came at 6:44 for the Rebels, but it didn't rattle our goalie.  She made an awesome save at 4:18.  Unfortunately, the IceDogs made a big boo-boo defensively and the Rebels don't miss a trick!  They got their second goal.  Then the Rebels are all over the Dogs.  Ashlynn made huge saves at 1:16 and 1:00 to keep the Dogs in it.
The next period Tyson returned to the net, ready to go.  But the best part of the whole period was the double penalty for the Rebels and the first four minute major that our team has encountered all season!  (It may have been coming though.) Despite two extra Doggies on the ice, we just couldn't come up with anything.  Then one penalty was done and just a few seconds remaining on the second one.  With a pass from Chayse (#6), to (#88) Jason to Clayton (#12) (who had been digging all game), and he finally gets the IceDogs on the board.  A couple of minutes later, the Rebels would get a weird bounce off a shot and Rebels are at 3.  And we were at one. Period two ended.
The pressure cooker was on high.  The Dogs kept skating!  At 6:08, we were rewarded with another goal, thanks to (#16), Austin with his solo. We were catching up and our players were inspired.  Austin (#16) kept at it, and got the pass to (#13) Will for our equaling goal at 2:22.  Tied score.  The last two minutes were a battle royale!  The Rebels got their fourth goal at 1:18, despite our best efforts.  Then with three seconds left, the IceDogs got their final penalty with one of our Dogs tripping and landing on their goalie.  (I believe our goalies had already experienced the joy that earlier in the game, with one moshpit rewarding the Rebels with four minutes of sitting in the box and feeling shame.  A valuable life lesson!)  Final score 4 to 3.
