Ice Dogs Win 2 over the weekend
a

The U13 Rep Ice Dogs faced two tough opponents over last weekend in the Mount Forest Ram and the TDCMHA Rebels.  First the Mount Forest game.  Carter M started things off with a nice goal set up by his centerman Conner B after a nice pass down low by Quinn C.   Then Conner B tipped in a beauty after a point shot by Quinn C.   The Rams got one of there own to end the first 2-1 Ice Dogs.  Jesse P with 2 and Aden M with one ended the second 5-2 Ice Dogs.  But with a few of the Ice Dogs under the weather and our normal hustle for the puck lacking, the Ram took advantage in the third and caught the Ice Dogs off guard.  They scored 3 straight  to make it 5-4 with 3 minutes left.  We called a time out to settle the boys down.  These Ice Dogs have been through some tough battles already in tournaments so far and were able to seal it with a empty netter by Quinn C who ended up with a 4 point game.
Second Game of the weekend was against the pesky hardworking Rebels with a very solid goalie.  The Ice Dogs came out with much better hustle and determination for the puck in this game.  But the Rebels were equal to the task and also hemmed the Ice Dogs in there own end on more then one occasion.  The first goal by the Ice Dogs had Porter B flying down the wing and feeding Jesse P in the slot and the first buzzer sounded and 1-0 us.  The Rebels scored one with some good down low work from Cohen H and a pass out front and it was tied 1-1.  Aden M then sprung Jesse P who flew in over the blue line and made a nice backhand sauce pass to Porter B and he fired it home for a 2-1 lead.  Then we traded goals again and it was 4-4 with 7 minutes left in the third.  This is when the Ice Dogs turned it on and with back to back carbon copy goals from Porter B and Carter M it was 6-4.  The Rebels pulled there goalie to try and tie it up but Jesse P fired home the empty netter to complete the hat trick and a 7-4 final to head into the Christmas break.  Great first half of the season by the Ice Dogs, BUT we need to make sure we keep the intensity dialed to the max as there will be some tough sledding ahead to end out our regular season.  On to the Silver Stick tournament in Kincardine with 16 teams entered in the C division, with all teams entered tough competition.
