Ice Dogs defeat the Lightning

The U13 Rep Ice Dogs traveled to Thornbury to take on the Georgian Shores Lightning in a exhibition game against a top team in the GBMHL. The Lightning came out on the first shift and scored a end to end rush goal. The Ice Dogs bounced right back with Aden M and Porter B finding Jesse P in the slot. 30 seconds later and it was 2-1 Lightning on another end to end rush. Again the Ice dogs bounced right back with Porter B banging in a rebound shot from Owen W. Then rookie call up Oliver H took a feed in the slot from Jesse P and Aden M and roofed a back hander for his first of the year to end the first period 3-2. Then two quick goals to start the third by Jesse P lying on his back for one and Aden M completing a nice passing play made it 5-2 to end the second period. The Lightning came out and scored a quick one to start the third but Porter B and Aden M completed the scoring for the Ice Dogs and we skated away with a 7-3 win. Good job boys. Keep up the hard work.
