IceDogs Put it All Together in Playoff Action
As a Coach, sometimes you wonder if you are pressing the right buttons, saying the right things and have a lot of sleepless nights wondering what you can do or say to get the Team to take another step forward. And sometimes it all comes together like it did on Tuesday.

The U13 Rep IceDogs were off to Keady to play visitor to the TCDMHA Rebels in Round Robin Action Play on Tuesday.  After some brief individual player meetings, the IceDogs were chomping at the bit to get started.

The IceDogs started the game with an extra bounce in their step (another coaching point) and surprised the Rebels a bit with their tenacity and checking.  I've said it before--sometimes it's not THAT you win but HOW you win that is important.  Several good strong passing plays were rewarded with goals and the 10-11-12 line of Brayden-Jesse and Aden M made several tremendous plays in the neutral zone to spring an IceDog in for a chance.

Not to be outdone, Carter M-Ethan-Owen M were strong in the checking department, causing turnovers and getting chances of their own.

Owen W and Waylon G took some coaching points to heart and had very solid games in their own end and moving the puck smartly to the forward group.  Alek F. had a highlight reel goal and Karden C. was a force to be reckoned with in his own end, using good body position to make difficult plays look easy.

Adian S. was sharp when called upon and only surrendered a 5 on 3 goal.

Goal scorers - Jesse (3), Ethan (3), Aden (2), Brayden, Owen M, Carter and Alek

Assists (and several highlight reel ones) - Jesse (3), Brayden (5), Aden (3), Waylon (2), Owen W, Owen M, Ethan, Karden and Alek.

The IceDogs will have to be ready when they host TCDMHA on Sunday....puckdrop is 6:00 in Chesley.
