Atom Rep IceDogs Battle Hard Against Lakers
The AEMHA Atom Rep IceDogs were fresh off the Christmas Break and set to host the Shallow Lake Lakers tonight in Chesley.

Everyone in Dressing Room 4 was focused and locked in for this one.  You could tell by the seriousness on the players faces that the playoffs are right around the corner.

Right off out of the gate, the IceDogs were hungry, winning puck battles and races to loose pucks.  Landon B. would park himself out front and re-direct a shot from Logan H. and the IceDogs were up 1-0.  Consistent puck pressure and a desire to outwork the other team was apparent from all 3 forward units and the D corps as the first period came to a close.

The second period started with another IceDog goal as Landon B. raced to the net and knocked in a rebound off an electrifying rush by George I.  A lucky Laker goal would give the Lakers some life and they would begin to tilt the ice back in their favour.  The IceDogs would bend, but not break and Owen W. was all-world again with some scintillating saves to keep the 'Dogs up 2-1 after two.

The third period saw the IceDogs get their legs moving again and begin to take the play to the Lakers.  However, another lucky bounce went the Lakers way and they would knot things up at two.  Despite the tie game, the IceDogs kept their foot on the gas and would get the break they so richly deserved.  After a clanker off the post earlier in the game, Karden C. would get a chance to wire one from the slot.  The shot was blocked but Ethan S. read the play and fired the puck past a surprised Laker goalie to put the IceDogs up by one.  Now, the IceDogs really went to work.  Grinding the Lakers into panic passes and applying pressure of their own, the IceDogs would come away with a well-deserved 3-2 win.

This was a complete effort from all the IceDogs as they put Coach Chad's words into action.  Great game Owen, Logan, Riley, Tyler, Alek, Anderson, Brayden, Owen, Lucas, Ethan, Karden, Austin, Landon, George and Carter.
