Coach has a bit more facial hair and lot more grey hairs...
It's November/Movember! Coach has decided that the facial hair doesn't come off until the Pee Wee LL White winning streak is over! Although, after the last few games, we are all surprised that his hair hasn't turned completely grey!
Thursday night saw the Pee Wee LL White Ice Dogs at home ice in Tara against the Shallow Lake Lakers. After dominating the first period we were up 3-0 with 2 goals from Tie J. and one from Conor M. The kids decided to put it in cruise control and coach was thinking they were out of gas. Shallow Lake took advantage of the reduced speed limit and had a few shots on net and a few pings off the goal posts, but could only get one past Tatum E.
Third period, the Ice Dogs hit the gas and came back to life. Shallow lake put another one past us, to make for a tense 3-2 game until Brandon P. skated up the ice and put one home in the last minute. Coach could finally breathe a little. Assists went to Kaiden S., Brody R. (2), and Todd J.
Let's rev it up a little quicker next time kids!
Saturday we traveled to visit Saugeen Shores #3. Despite being a little tired from a busy week, we all played well, made some great plays and passes and ended with a 6-0 shutout. We kept the play in their end for the full first period, but despite a lot of shots only managed to get one in the last 50 seconds. Our goalie was starting to get a little cold and lonesome in our end, so for the second period we let her see a little bit of action. We managed to get another goal in the 2nd period with a pretty face-off play by Brandon P. sending it back to Defense Ethan M. who shot one top corner. Beauty play boys, just like we practiced!
We came on fire during the third period and saw a great tip-in goal from Austin H., one from Tie J., Ethan M. going end-to-end with his 2nd goal of the night and finished up with Brandon P. tipping home Hayden G.'s point shot. Our goalie saw her first shutout on a great team game!
Assists also went to Todd J. (2), Kaiden S. and Austin H.
Keep up the great work kids. If your coach looks like a member from Duck Dynasty soon, you know why.
