Winning Weekend for the Pee Wee White Ice Dogs!
It was a busy weekend for the Pee Wee White Ice Dogs as they played their arch rivals the Red Ice Dogs Friday night and Bruce Peninsula on Saturday during Arran-Elderslie Hockey Day.
Both Red and White Pee Wee Ice Dogs took the stage on Friday Night in Chesley for a much anticipated game. The Red Dogs opened the scoring, but we came back late in the period with a pass from Brandon P. to Conlan K. who tapped it into the wide open net. Tatum E. kept the score 1-1 at the end of the first with a beauty blocker save.
Second period had Conlan K. put home his second goal of the night, but the Red Dogs were seeing red and answered right back. Ethan M. took the puck to the net and scored on his own rebound, and Austin H. banked one in off a red defender in front to put us up by two. With time winding down in the second period, Kaiden S. shot one in from the slot with only 8 seconds to go. Third period saw some back and forth hockey, but not a single Dog found the back of the net. The White Dogs came out ahead 5-2.
Saturday had us pumped up to play with all the excitement of Hockey Day in Arran-Elderslie. We came out full force with Brandon P. scoring 4 goals in the first period and Bruce Peninsula replying with one. The second period was a little quieter with some great passing from the Ice Dogs and a single goal from Austin H. Bruce Peninsula came back with their second goal of the night to finish off the second period. Third period the Ice Dogs came out firing (maybe a little wide sometimes) but we found the back of the net four times with goals from Nathaniel K., Conlan K., Conor M. and Tie J.
