Shortened bench comes up short in play-off debut
With the shortest bench of the season, the tired Ice Dogs came up short in the first game of their round-robin playoff schedule against Saugeen Shores at the Plex.
For a couple of periods it looked like both team would be shut out, but late in the second the Storm put one on the board. With 4 minutes to go in the third, they added another cheap one and came out on top by a score of 2-0.
A little sluggish from yesterday's tournament play, ten skaters weren't enough in this match. In fact, the Dogs were held to only 3 shots on net. Bradley played well, and Gavin showed enough energy to win him the game puck today.
The next set of games take place next weekend on Saturday and Sunday. Maybe at Wednesday's practice we'll know just how many of the boys will be back in action.
