Mad Dog vs Icedog
Friday night in the Ol' Tara Barn, your U13 Reps were gearing up for their final regular season game of 2023. Minto Mad Dogs would be the match up.
Both teams eager for the first goal made for quite an exciting game. The stands were full on both sides and fans loud and proud, time for puck drop!

Right from puck drop both teams were battling hard, most of the game saw end to end action. This team was a little rougher than we were used to, but your U13s stood their ground and managed to get the first goal on the board which took most of the first period. Mad dogs wouldn't just lie down and not even a minute later they answered right back tying the game. Starting the second period Icedogs were quick to the draw and got another over the goal line giving them the lead, Mad Dogs once again managed to tie the game just a couple minutes later. Clock was counting down and with minutes to spare Icedogs would find the back of the net to give them the lead once again to end the second.
Not too sure what the coaches said to the boys during coaches corner but when they hit the ice for the Third they were a dog after a bone, Or to Quote Clarky "seagulls on a French fry" Icedogs hit the fourth gear and didn't look back. score not once but 4 more times, it was almost like watching the Toronto Maples Leafs score 5 in the third the night before.. But your U13's are conditioned for the third, they seem to come alive and have a hunger to score. Final would end up being 7-3. a great way to wrap up the first half of the season, with a record of 12-0. Just a shout out to Sarah M and Jake F, who were our official scorekeepers for the game. Having to record 17 penalties and 10 goals, they were some busy in the box.

We will host the Clearview Canucks on Sunday afternoon in Chesley for a 2pm exhibition matinee. Which will also be a Christmas food drive for the Arran Elderslie community (food will be distributed to families in Chesley, Paisley, and Tara). Please bring a non perishable food item or a few if you are able. ....looking forward to another great game to build on for your U13's tomorrow to prepare for The Regional Silver Stick hosted by Kincardine over the Christmas holidays.
