IceDogs Tie Thunder
The IceDogs made the looooooooong trek to Zurich on Sunday evening to tangle with the Thunder. It was definately eventful.
If Santa was watching the Thunder, they will for sure be on the naughty list as they took liberties with the IceDogs which went unnoticed by the boys in the stripes. George I. was undaunted by the dirty play and potted a hat trick before the 2nd period intermission. Zurich was hanging around though and made it 3-2 at the intermission.
Once again, the IceDogs should have denied the flood as they came out flat to start the third. But, a beautiful passing play, started by Calista led to Ryan and Lance dancing in on a 2 on 1 and Ryan buried a rebound to get the IceDogs up by 2 and things were looking up. Zurich continued their spearing, slashing and hacking and eventually wore down the IceDogs and scored late to tie it up at 4. That's how this one would end and the IceDogs would limp home to Arran-Elderlise with 1 point in the bank.
Our General Manager is on the look out for a Marty McSolery, Dave Semenko-type player for the re-match in a couple of weeks. Stay tuned!
