Atom Rep IceDogs Conclude WOAA Round Robin with a Win!
The Atom Rep AEMHA IceDogs had a bit of a wait between games but that didn't tame their hunger to play as they had another very good performance on Sunday afternoon in Goderich.

The IceDogs had one thing on their mind--win and they gave themselves a chance to move on to the next round.  I have said it a bunch this past month--these IceDogs are hungry and it shows on the ice.

Trainer/Coach D'Elle would have been so proud to watch her team in warm-ups---a few IceDogs took the lead and put the team through a stretch and warm-up that would have had D'Elle smiling all the way from Jamaica ;-)  It paid dividends early as Owen M. took a stretch pass from Ethan S. and raced down his wing before firing a hard wrister through the Sailor goalie.  Goderich would get that one back with a seeing eye shot bankhander past Peyton L but Peyton's team was determined to bail their goalie out.  Ethan S. would get the go ahead goal just before the 1st period buzzer off a nice feed from Owen M.  The 'Dogs were out in front 2-1.

The 2nd period had Owen M. reading a D to D pass and picking if off.  This time he had some time to put an ankle breaking deke on the goalie and the IceDogs were up 3-1 early in the 2nd.  Ethan would go roof daddy on a shot and some hard-work from Carter G. along the half-wall to put the 'Dogs up 4-1 but the Sailors would bounce back with a ricochet shot.  Carter G. would rip home a shot from the right side of the net after Hudson J. and Ethan would work together to get the puck to the front of the net.  It was 5-2 IceDogs at the 2nd buzzer.

The third period had Coach P. make a few adjustments to the lines to bring this one home.  The IceDogs played most of the 3rd period in the Goderich zone but couldn't get that elusive 6th goal...that was until Karden C. made a move at the blue line and ripped a shot off the tender and in to pretty much salt this one away.  Goderich would get one back when the IceDogs got a little sloppy in their own end but it was the IceDogs going away (on the scoreboard and the play on the ice!)

The IceDogs have guaranteed themselves at least a tie-breaking game with a very solid round robin record.  They will play the scoreboard watching game this week to see what the future holds!  Nice work IceDogs--we aren't done yet but you are putting the work in and nice to see you get rewarded and giving yourselves a chance!
