Icedogs take the big prize at home tournament.
With Jaxson away and Avelyn fighting a nasty flue bug, the U13A Icedogs along with the U13 B team, hosted their home tournament in Tara.
The U13A Team started off in the morning with a game versus the U13 entry from Georgian Shores. The game was tight through the first period with both teams testing the tenders with many opportunities. Both teams would battle through the first period without registering a point. Once things got rolling for the Icedogs, they found themselves with a 5-0 Victory at the final buzzer.
After a break for lunch, the Icedogs were on the ice again at 1:30 vs the Wingham U13 squad. This one was a tighter battle than the score board indicated and the Icedogs came out with a very close 3-1 Victory.
Meanwhile as the morning rolled on, our Icedog partners on the U13B team were on a run of their own. Two 6-2 victories against Embro and Saugeen shores had them waiting for their Icedog rivals for the finals.
Some concerns were raised when Coach Curtis was trying to influence and sway the U13A players to adjust their tactics to improve Mr Calhoun's chances. This was thwarted by some keen eyes and no injuries to report during the intervention.
Another great bout between two Icedog teams was underway and both teams had their eye on the prize. It was a tough fought battle amongst friends. In the end your U13A team came out victorious.

Congrats to the coaches and players on a great tournament. A shout out to our friends on the U13B team for a great game and comradery. We can't forget all the parents on both teams for doing their part in making everything run smoothly.

There is no rest for the wicked though, the Icedogs are off to Kincardine on Sunday as the regular season rolls on.
