Ice Dog White Beat Storm to Sweep Round Robin
Saugeen Shores and AEMHA Atom Ice Dog White tangled in the final round robin game of the opening playoff series on Sunday in Paisley.

For the Ice Dogs, this was a statement game and they were out to prove their perfect record in the playoffs was not a fluke.  But this Saugeen Shores squad is a tough one and they took it to the Ice Dogs early with some good end zone time to begin the game.  The Ice Dogs bent, but didn't break and Tash B. drove the puck toward the Storm goal after a nice play at the blue line-Ryan P would get the tip in goal and the Ice Dogs were off and running.  Larkin G. would score not long after that when Ryan P and Gavin H.  worked the puck toward the Storm goal and it was 2-0 Ice Dogs at the intermission.

Early in the 2nd period, George P would win a face off back to big Colby Hurst who blasted a puck by the Storm net minder (nice screen by Gavin H!)  Then George would tap in a back door pass from Ryan P to give the Ice Dogs a 4-0 lead (also assisted by Gavin H.)

The third started with a Storm goal off a breakaway but the Ice Dogs would respond when Colby H. scored an identical goal to his first one--off a face-off win by George P.  Larkin would score her second of the game shortly after that off a nice play from Lucas W.  Ryan P would complete the scoring when Gavin H found him all alone out front of the net.  Final score--7-2 Ice Dogs and they are off to the Championship Round!

As fate would have it, the Ice Dogs will face the same Saugeen Shores team in the Final Championship round...game details to be determined.

Great game Ice Dogs...that was Ice Dog hockey all the way today!!
