Atom White Ice Dogs Win on the Peninsula!
The Atom White Ice Dogs took to the ice in Wiarton in Game 4 of their round robin opening playoff round.
These two teams have not seen each other since before the Christmas Break but they quickly got to know each other again after a couple of tough checking shifts. With Larkin G. back in the lineup and setting the screen in front of the net, Lucas W. won a draw back to Austin G. who rifled a shot behind the Predator net minder. The Preds would tie the game a few minutes later and Josh S. would be asked to make a few more saves before the end of the period.
The 2nd period was a see-saw affair and stayed knotted at ones until Larkin G. made a tremendous play behind the net to feed a wipe open Lucas, who would go backhand-forehand and put the Ice Dogs up 2-1 at the intermission.
The 3rd period started with the Dogs being shorthanded but that didn't slow down the 'Dogs. Ryan P and Austin would work hard to keep the puck in the Predator end. Austin would feed George P. a pass in front and George would tuck it home for a 3-1 lead. Larkin would continue her great game with a goal to complete the scoring (assisted by Lucas W.)
The 4-1 win in Wiarton gives the Ice Dogs 4 wins and 0 losses in the round robin with one more game to play on Sunday against Saugeen Shores....and it should be a beauty!
