Ice Dog White Win Game 2!
The Atom LL White Ice Dogs took to the ice in Paisley to tangle with the Saugeen Shores Storm in Game 2 of their Round Robin series.
It was obvious from warm-up that the Ice Dogs were ready for this one. They scored early and often to start the game. First, Lucas W. would bang in a rebound after Lucas S and Daemyn E. worked the puck toward the Storm net. George P. would be sprung on a breakaway after a nice pass from Calista H. to give the Ice Dogs a 2 goal lead. Colby H. would complete the scoring for the first period with a wicked blast from the half wall after picking off a Storm clearing pass. Josh S. would complete a great period for the Ice Dogs with a glovely save on a Storm sharpshooter.
The 2nd period saw the Storm push back. George P. would bang his 2nd of the game into an yawning cage after Gavin H. dug the puck out of the corner. The Storm would get one back as the 2nd period came to an end and it was 4-1 at the 2nd intermission.
The 3rd period started with another Ice Dog goal when Dylan P. won a faceoff to Austin G. Austin would fire a cannonading drive toward the net that the Storm netminder never saw and it was 5-1 Ice Dogs. George would get his 3rd goal of the game when Ryan P. stripped a Storm skater of the puck and fed George the puck. George would fend off two defenders and snipe his hat trick goal in front of jam packed crowd. Make the final 6-1 Ice Dogs.
The Ice Dogs have a few days to relish this one and will face TCDMHA Rebels on Thursday.
